The bicycles were in poor repair, so maybe don't advertise the bikes. Everything else was great. We walked along the road behind the property a couple times and the views are breathtaking of the neighboring properties.

Perfecto, the location was great, half way between Florence and Sienna. Alessandra was a very nice host. The property is beautiful. We enjoyed the pool and our room was nice size, clean and nicely decorated.

My only complaint was that it was always difficult to locate someone. The young lady who did check me in and take care of us was marvelous...very congenial, polite and helpful.

The location was great, very dissapointed with
breakfast, we were in an empty restaurant with
a basket of 4 croisants and 2 cups of coffee!!
My partner cannot eat wheat so no breakfast
for her!!. For extra 3 days there we brought
our own even though we had paid B + B.

evening,
The apartments were spacious and
beautifullt decorated. We had
everything we needed.
Mr. Badini and the staff were very
pleasant and helpful anytime we had a

We were greeted by the owner who was most friendly and helpful. We were immediately impressed by the quality of the development and its beautiful location and views.

We were left in peace to enjoy our holiday, yet we knew Jacopo was always around should we have needed him - which we didn't!
The staircase in our unit would be too steep for some people, we had difficulty getting our suitcases up it! We felt that there would have been enough space to have fitted a shallower staircase, even though this would have taken a little more room from the living area. The web info does say the staircase is steep in this unit.

It would have been helpful if the directions had stated that Antico Borgo was up a typical Tuscan road that was gravelled - no problem with the gravel but we originally missed the turning twice because we were expecting a tarmac road off the main road.

Your directions online should refer to the
'Casa Bandini', which is the new restaurant
housed inside the structure. We were trying
to find the 'Antico Borgo San Lorenzo' sign
on the small gravel road, but passed by,
since it is very small, and written only on
the entrance posts on the side. But Casa
Bandini is a big sign, easily noticed.
Because of that, we ended up going about 1 km
further down the dirt road, and had to phone
the owner to get further directions.

It should be noted that the Casa Bandini
restaurant recently opened is a FANTASTIC
restaurant - excellent food, creative cuisine,
good wine selection, and warm 'ambiance'.
Perfect complement to our stay.

The Antico Borga San Lorenzo is a beautiful, relaxing place, which is well kept and managed. The owners were very friendly and assisted with booking train tickets etcetera online. Also, the services at the sight were wonderful, restaurant, pool etc. Other services were within a short drive of the villa.

The apartment was beautiful and far exceeded my expectations. The kitchen was spacious with dishwasher and oven. The only disappointment was the private garden area which was a corner of the large patio used for restaurant customers. It was not at all private and we used it very little. We also did not know that we would be charged 5 euros per load to do laundry.

We would have liked a toaster, kettle & teapot. We were provided with a toaster when requested, but it did not work. We did enjoyed a very enjoyable meal @ CASA BANDINI.I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Bandini who is delightful.We did many wnderful hikes in the Tuscan hills & will long remember our stay.I would certainly recommend ANTICO BORGO SAN LORENZO to anyone coming to TUSCANY.

The accommodation and general quality and layout of the accommodation was better than expected, the website didn' do it justice at all. We felt an info booklet in the room with more detail on the services listed on the website (such as bike hire, trails, tours, wine tasting etc ..), would have be welcome.

On arrival we were told that the apartment we had booked had been allocated to another family but that we had been upgraded to another property with better facilities. However, the reason we had chosen the sepcific aprtment we did was because it was llon the ground floor wqhich suited our 2 year old boy. The upgrade was on two floors with an open staircase which was not at all suitable. Thankfully, the family who had been given our apartment were more than happy to swap so a potential problem was averted. However, I must say that if they hadn't it would have been a very difficult situation. This holiday village is beautiful and the best place we have ever stayed but I would advise people to make sure that they are clear when they book that they do not want to be upgraded if they have specific requirements. The Bandini family were very helpful, though.

We checked out at 7:30 in the morning and there wasn't anyone available to check us out. We left a note on the door and continued on our journey. Since we had prepaid, we didn't have a problem.

It is a great central place to stay if you are interested in site seeing through the Tuscany region. We were able to drive to several places of interest and then back without any problem. I recommend a GPS for site seeing because the roads are a little confusing.

The child playground was in the list but in fact there was nothing. And the bad was very cold (even with additional blanket) so we had to use bottles with hot water. May be in future they can provide customers with some kind of heating pad..

We were met personally by Jacopo Bandini and he couldn't do enough for us. We had arrived early so he actually helped the women clean the apartment so we could 'move' right in. He was extremely charming and delightful... a wonderful welcome.

We used a GPS system in our rental; the address doesn't exist! So we drove into Poggisbonsi, called the front desk and were given perfect instructions to get there. It's not quite in Poggisbonsi, it's North of Poggibonsi almost to Colle Valle de'Elsa

Room was great! It is in a rural location, so there are 'friends' of the arachnoid nature around - but we are used to this, you may not be. I thought that we should have been given a little more information about how to turn on the heating, some nights got chilly and I considered using the central heat - but couldn't figure out how to use the system. Also, we had to buy matches for the gas hobs - it would have been nice for them to provide them. There was able parking for all guests. There is an occasional tour group (sometimes up to 300 people!) that stops at the Antico to view the historic Church that is on site *it's beautiful*. They really weren't any bother to us...we were leaving for the day anyway. I was able to use the internet when needed in the office, which was great! There were times during our stay when we had a question or two, and there was no one around. On Mondays, the Borgo is very quiet. We weren't able to use the pool, but it was in a discrete location and was very clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Very nice accomodation and extremly service-minded staff (I donīt think we ever had met so kind and polite staff during our stays around Europe, perfect accomodation for any purpose, if you have kids or are just a pair, a group travelling together, if you are young ,old, if you want to prepare your meals self or eat at the restaurant at the location.

Unfortunately the restaurant was closed
until our last night (and we didn't know it
had reopened in time to try it). One slight
disappointment is that I had hoped the
satellite TV would include a children's
channel, and/or more English options. It
meant that we didn't have as much
entertainment for the chidren as we had
hoped. Our balcony furniture was not in
good condition, and the sheets we had were a
little rough. All in all, minor things.

The town it is closest to, Colle di Val
d'Elsa, was wonderful. Fewer tourists than
some of the other nearby towns, and so it
felt more living, like a real place and not
just for show. The location was very
convenient for travelling to nearby cities:
Sienna, San Gimiagno, the Chianti area,
Volterra, Florence all nearby. Pisa and
Lucca were easy trips also.

We arrived early evening, after the office was closed but found a note attached to the office window with directions to our cottage. After 20 mins the owner came to see if we had settled in ok which was nice.
The complementary bottle of wine on arrival was a lovely touch.

The complex ran a weekly get together over a meal, The food was average and expensive compared to proper restaurants within the local area. All tables were seperate and we were lead to believe the owners were going to be there and were not.
Also the complex bar did not have any regular opening times which would have been good, at the end of the day.

We got lost coming in from Venice. We were not sure as to which exit to take on the autostrada. We eventually made our way into Poggibonsi, found the tourist inform'n booth. The attendant there was very helpful, and called the antico borgo for further clarification on directions, and from there we were able to find our way. Should maybe note to look for the signs for the Ristorante Bandinni, as those signs were clearly marked, and is located @ the Antico Borgo.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Antico Borgo. Also, we very thankful for the outdoor pool, as it was extremely hot during our stay there, and a quick dip in the pool made all things right again! A beautiful location in a gorgeous country side. It was nice to be so accessible to Sienna, Voltarre and Florence.

Positive-That the location is very accessible to the surrounding cities ie. Florence, Sienna, Voltarre and San Giamanni.
Negative- Directions, further signage would be helpful to locate the Antico Borgo, or just note to look for the signs for the restaurant that is found on site there (Ristorante Bandinni). Saw those signs more clearly than for signs for the Antico Borgo.
Positive- A great location for people with young children, as there were lots of animals to keep the kids entertained, and you also did not have to worry about traffic ect. the kids could run around outside at will.

We arrived a bit early and our host was not there. No problem - we knew we had arrived outside of the time frame given - we wanted to make sure we had the right place. We found some cleaning staff and was told that the owner would return later. We took to opportunity to go to the grocery store in the closest town and to grab some lunch. By the time we returned, the owner was there and we checked in.

We expected something nice out in the country - this is exactly what we got and more! The property was a beautiful as pictured on the website but it is hard to convey the peace and quiet and utter serenity that we felt. What a wonderful home base to explore Tuscany!

There were multiple exits from the expressway for Poggibonsi and Colle Val D'Elsa. The only way the instructions worked was if you took the Poggibonsi south exit. We ended up driving all over town looking for someone who could point us in the right direction. On a Sunday arrival, this was very difficult as everything in town was shut down for the day. A much more detailed map with clear depiction of surface streets and intersections in the area would be helpful.

The driving directions could be more descriptive and provide landmarks or other buildings to help in following the directions. In our case the road to Antico Borgo San Lorenzo was off of SR 68 which was easily identified on our map and there was a Hospital approximately 1 mile away which would have been a very helpful landmark when trying to find our location.

Based on the web site - a small wine tasting bar was located on the property. It was there and from time to time the door was open, but during our one week stay, we never saw one person operating the bar. This was disappointing since one of our main reasons for visiting Tuscany was to sample local wines; obviously, with no server - we were unable to taste any wine. We could have and should have inquired, but felt pushy doing so.

Antico Borgo San Lorenzo is a quiet, restful, and serene location with beautiful views. The ancient buildings converted to create the B & B enhance the ambiance of the property. The property has a very good location with access to many major roads making site-seeing in central Tuscany a breeze. Based on our needs, Antico Borgo San Lorenzo was a wonderful place to stay and we would definately recommend it.

The directions to Antico Borgo San Lorenzo from Florence were not correct. It took us two hours from arriving in the area to find our way to the apartments, despite trying to ask for help several times. The Antico Borgo San Lorenzo sign is not easily seen from the road. Had we known a well known restaurant was on the property, which in fact did have several large signs pointing the way, (called Casa Bandini) then that would have helped immeasurably.

The apartment was warm, which was our primary concern coming to stay in November. The beds and the living area were most comfortable and spacious.

Very reasonable, the owners were very accomodating, rooms comfortable and warm. We would recommend it.

I had to leave my passport, which made me very nervous, because the proprietor was leaving for the day.

There was no air conditioning as had been advertised, and our rooms faced south so it was miserably hot! That said, the views were beautiful and the pool quite refreshing.

We absolutely adored our stay at Antico Borgo San Lorenzo. The environment, accommodation and hosts were all wonderful and I would not hesitate to recommend it to my friends.

Usually web sites for accommodation properties make them look better than they really are. If anything, Antico Borgo San Lorenzo's site does not do it justice. It would be hard to capture the special atmosphere of the place in a mere photograph.

When you look at the photographs on the web it would be helpful to have the name of the property they relate to.

We were delighted with our stay and would of stayed an extra week if a property was available. We found it very central for visiting all the attractions of Tuscany. P

For valid reasons the room we had booked was
not available when we arrived. We were placed
in a very acceptable hotel for the first night
of our stay. This was handled very well.

We were greeted by Dr. Bandini and were welcomed warmly and shown to our apartment.

It was particularly quite, as there were only 2 other couples on site at the time. The restaurant was excellent, but expensive.

Dr. Bandini wished us a good journey and gave us excellent suggestions for our trip to Rome, he directed us by the coast.

It is kept beautifully. The swimming pool is excellent. Only down side is the road leading to Antico Borgo is sandy and causes a lot of dust.

Fabulous, this is our second visit and we loved both apartments we stayed in - would highly reccomend anyone to stay there. But a car is essential.

The restaurant located on the property, was too expensive, comparing to other restaurants, equaly in quality and ambiance. If they had offered more value for money (or actually: same value for less money!)we would have made reservations more often.

The directions were quite misleading, and although consideration after we arrived concluded they were correct, for someone new to the area, and Italy as a whole, they were definitely not detailed enough.

There didn't seem to be BBQ facilities, although all other facilities were outstanding.
