Profile |
Il Borgo stands on the grounds of a 17th-century country estate established by Florence's distinguished Bossi-Pucci family. Over the centuries, the estate became the largest wine producer of Chianti in the region, its vineyards and olive groves stretching for hundreds of acres. |
Il Borgo village has the ambience of a typical Tuscan community. Constructed of materials that include "pilloli" (a large river pebble), "pietra serena" (soft grey marble), "cotto" (Tuscan red bricks) and "mattonelle" (locally produced tiles). Il Borgo's distinctive architecture matches the integrity of the original structures. This beautiful village recalls the atmosphere of the old farmsteads so typical of Tuscany's countryside. |
Resort amenities and attractions include Tuscan library, Internet Center, exercise room, Tuscany Arts and Crafts courses, jogging trails and walks through the centuries-old park of Villa Bossi Pucci's estate. |
