Villa Borbone is an eighteenth century residence located 8 km from Lucca, almost 400m above sea level, just 30 minutes from Pisa and 60 minutes from Florence. It faces south, and lies between Vecoli and Pieve Santo Stefano, surrounded by groves of ancient olive trees. Above the property, on the upper slopes of Monte Castellaccio, there is a beautiful wood where you can walk in utter tranquillity. |
The Villa is situated in a classic Tuscan countryside, with stupendous views from its spacious terrace towards the Versilian coast (Island of Elba and Leghorn). The Villa's elegance has been retained with antiques throughout, while at the same time offering all modern comforts for a memorable holiday. The surrounding area offers an extraordinary variety of interesting tourist destinations from Versilia coast, where there are international seaside resorts such as Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi, to Garfagnana renowned for its natural beauty in the Apuan Alps, to the hills overlooking Lucca where wine and olive oil abound together with some of the most beautiful and historically renowned homes in Tuscany. |
HISTORY The Villa Borbone takes its name from the original owner, Princess Maria Teresa of the Spanish Royal House of Bourbon. Such illustrious connections continued in the 19th century when Napoleon's sister, Elisa Baciocchi used it as a hunting lodge. |
