Nowadays there are six guestrooms available for tourists, featuring beautiful views of the countryside. The house is placed within an old borough, on a high position 280 metres above sea level: this is why the inn is called "belvedere", as this word means, in Italian, "to overlook". Even though there are no certainties about the original construction of the small village, including the small church of Saint Tomasso, old houses made of stone and a public square, it is though to date as far back as the 16th century. |
Once you have relaxed a few days in this completely natural environment, Belvedere di Suvereto (where the last renovations were carried out in 2004) can be a great starting point for the whole area of Livorno and Tuscany, as Florence is two hours away by car, and Siena and Pisa, only one hour away. The Etruscan Coast can be reached in 20 minutes if you are driving, and there are thermal waters at Caldana -11 kms from the inn. As for the gastronomy of the Belvedere, there is a restaurant serving specialties from Tuscan cuisine, such as capriolo, maialino roast and tortelli. |
