 Belora is a farm house on a hill with views of the river Cecina and on the horizon, the sea. Within the house there are some large, comfortable apartments all with separate entrances. The house, renovated in the original Tuscan style, has an ample garden area surrounding it with wooden picnic tables under pine trees, an ideal place for relaxing in the daytime or enjoying evening meals at the barbecue. |
 The hill on which the house stands is at a few hundred meters from the Salaiola road which connects the seaside to Riparbella and Volterra. The optimal position was exploited even at the time of the Etruscans, who used it as a point of observation. Archeological artifacts have been found in the area which are now housed in the museum of Riparbella and in the Etruscan Museum of Volterra. In the adjacent hill several Etruscan tombs were discovered and excavated. |
