Everything was outstanding. ... The villa was beautiful and luxurious with spectacular views of the Tuscany countryside. The host and hostess were most gracious and absolutely accommodating.

We arrived an hour early and the owner suggested that we take a walk to the local village and come back in an hour. Since we are all in our late 50's and early 60's we were not full of energy after our travels from Rome. I asked if we could stay on the grounds and relax by the pool. They were very agreeable and offered some nice cold water to us by the pool. Within less than an hour we were taken inside for a tour and then offered some lovely refreshments of fruit, cheese, crackers, wine and beverages. This was a wonderful surprise and a great way to be welcomed. ... We found the village of Barberino to be very friendly and hospitable. The restaurants provided excellent food, the church bells in the morning were a wonderful way to start the day and Tuscany was more beautiful than we imagined. Our views were heavenly and the infinity pool was very inviting. It would have been good to know that the pool was unheated and the washing machine was very slow (also no dryer). ... We were unaware that we would be billed for water or commputer use. The total was around 55.00 euros which was not high but it was unexpected. We were presented with gifts from Flavia, the owner, just before our departute and the night before she shared some of her pasta dishes with us which were just enough for a cozy little dinner. ... The walk to the village was not long but it did include a steep walk up the hill. Our bathroom lighting was somewhat dim and a bulb over the sink was not working. We should have asked for a replacement but even with that it would have been dim. As previously mentioned the pool was unheated. Outside furniture was somewhat scattered, but perhaps because we arrived early they did not have time to it put back in place. ... It was a large Tuscan farmhouse, very handsome with large newer windows & screens for upstairs. It was spacious, clean and warm. There were fresh flowers and a stocked bar, absolute privacy and places for everyone to sit and read or relax both inside and out. All of the bedrooms were a generous size and quite pretty. Another very nice touch was the apples that were placed carefully at the top of our pillows that first night. We felt at home, relaxed and welcome. The village was very picturesque and friendly with enough shops for basic needs and some other shopping. Buses were handy and very dependable. Our host helped in any way she and her family could. It is a delightful place and I would return in a heartbeat.

It is a short walk to the village and the cental park where there is entertainment for young and old every night. Many concerts in the area - local, international, jazz and classical. also entertainment for children. Brochure should list market days in area and also days when each village is closed. ... magnifico

There waas just a little problem with the gate buzzer, and we had touse a key at each gate to get in and out for the rest of the trip. a remote control would be easier. ... we didn't know we would have to pay for the heat, and we did need to use it because of elderly paarents and an infant. also, we weeren't aware we would haave to pay for the internet, although it might haaave been an oversight on our part. ... we felt as if we should leave a tip for the housecleaner, but he really didn't do much. we actually would have preferred that he not come as often. we cleaned the kitchen ourselves, and all he did was make our beds. we left wet, used towels oon the floor to be replaced, and they were never even picked up! we had to use the same towels for a week, which during cold weather was not pleasant, as they never dried out. the house didn't have a drier, and the washer left the clothes drippping wet. we hung them out to dry, but the weather was cold and rainy for part of our stay. a drier would haave been nice. ... stress that heat may be needed, and that it is expensive, so certain times of the year may cost more than the basic price. ... very nice. the town of baarbarino is breautiful. the owner, flaavia, and daniela, the assistant, were both wonderful. they made a birthday cake for one of the family, and left little treats for us. the house was great!

Above and Beyond expectations..
Directions left many of the guests lost for quite a while before they found the property ... Would reccommend there be more toilet paper, paper towels and kleenex available. ... Barberino is very small and guests need to be out early to get to markets and restaraunts for shopping and meals... reccommend guests rent cars...it is very simple to get to Florence, Sienna and Poggibonsi with a car..... ... Perfect. Beautiful views of Tuscan landscape. Great space for large group with or without children. Great location within 30 minutes of Florence, Siena and Poggibonsi. The villa owners are very accommadating and really bring the charm of Italy to full light. Villa clean with new fixures/appliances but with the rustic ambiance of Tuscany. I will definately return to Podere Barberino.
