 Swimming Pool: Designed by the owner of the farm, Flavia, Florentine landscape architect, the pool is horizonless, 16x9 metres and is set into Tuscan stone. It features a charming waterfall that runs from the edge of the pool. From here you can contemplate the stunning views across the surrounding landscape, and enjoy the sun in a tranquil setting. The swimming pool is for exclusive use of guests staying in the Villa (Sometimes, and only on request, it is possible to allow the use to the guests of Guest House and Rick's House).
Golf Course Agreements are possible as the owner is member of the famous "Golf Club dell'Ugolino".
Meals Service: At Podere Barberino in Chianti we can prepare dinner and meals for our guests, but please advise at least 60 days before your arrival. Ask for information, availability, prices and menus.
. "Dinner at arrival" A cold or to be warmed 3 courses dinner (no waiter).
. "Lunch Buffet" A max 2 simple courses lunch. The cook can prepare it in the villa also every day (no waiter). Ask the "ready menu'.
. "Normal Dinner" A 5 courses dinner with cook, English spoken waiter and maid. Final cleaning included.
. "Special Dinner" A 6 courses dinner with cook and English spoken waiter, maid, Italian or typical Tuscan cooking, special equipment, elegant table sets, special porcelains plates, special glasses, elegant tablecloth, flowers, branched candlestick with candles, crystal decoration and life music upon request. Final cleaning included.
. Wedding parties and ceremonies on request.
At the moment of the request please include the number of dinners you require, if you prefer meat or fish or if you are vegetarian and the number of guests (min. 8 for all services).
Wine and Olive Oil Production: The farm produces and sells wine, extra virgin olive oil and typical Tuscan products. |

Owner's medieval cellar (12th century cellar):
We are happy for having completed a careful and delicate restoration of our delicious medieval wine cellar, situated in the historical centre under the walls of Barberino Val d'Elsa, 3 small underground plans, with small caves dug in the tuff rock following one another. Some historical valences testify the ancient activity of the inhabitants in the medieval period, like the old furnace for the baking of the bread or the old ice-house where all provisions were conserved during the winter; today the small caves, a time useful to preserve the most precious wine, conserves a small and selected collection of Tuscan and Sicilian wines.
Cellar's visit:
In occasion of a "Special Dinner", the owners will offer an aperitif in the villa or in the wine cellar (at guests' choice).
To reach the cellar (situated in the historical centre of the medieval village of Barberino Val d'Elsa) from the property: 5 minutes on foot (300 meters in climb).
Please note:
Swimming Pool use and Cottage spa "use":
a. Only for the guests of the Villa and the owners who occasionally use their cottage (the Guest House).
b. Guests in Garden House and Guest House only if the guests are the same group of the Villa may occasionally have use of the pool but ONLY on
request.
c. Guests in Rick's House can swim in the nearby farm pool with a ticket. (there is no pool at Rick's House) |

 The village of Barberino val d'Elsa is a small medieaval borgo that dates from the 13th century. Protected by ancient walls, it is located in the midst of grounds. The location has a fairy tale quality that once you have experienced you will not want to leave. The Touring Club of Italy has awarded the Barberino val D'Elsa with their "Orange Flag" mark of quality and in fact it is the most authentic medieaval village in the Val d'Elsa, not to mention the most romantic. Barberino Val d'Elsa has all the beauty of a medieaval village while being havign all the conveniences of a modern village for locals and guests alike. Described as the diamond in the heart of the Chianti - a region graced with gentle hills, quaint villages, churches, and castles, each of which has a story to tell. The many "enoteche" or wine boutiques and wine cellars, and small local restaurants, allow you to sample the lush produce of the area.
The Podere Barberino in Chianti is 200 metres outside the village. Our guests can forget their cars and stroll into the village which is well appointed with shops the cover every necessity. There are also restaurants, wine bars and cafès where you can enjoy live music during the summer, and a children's play area. If you want to explore further afield there are frequent bus services (ATAF line) to Florence, Siena and nearby towns.
