 Our Restaurant
Situated in the original but refurbished stables, and with elegant contemporary flair, the restaurant's atmosphere is warm and welcoming, while the surrounding garden enhances the overall mood with a touch of romance. During the hotter months meals are served outdoors under a bower of climbing roses and wisteria. Here the gourmet can savour the true aroma and flavour of the Chianti region. There is an added something to the preparation of the traditional Tuscan recipes. |
 The effect of simple, in season, ingredients is heightened by the careful use of herbs and vegetables. Handmade fresh pasta, traditional local meats such as lamb or rabbit, not to mention the exceptional steaks from the local cattle breed, the chianina. To round off local sheep and goat's cheeses, and home-made cakes and tarts are served to add that touch of sweetness. And to complement the meal our own wines, Badia a Coltibuono, those of the Chianti region and without forgetting other quality Italian vintages, will be brought from our cellars to your table. |
 Visits and Tasting
We do offer a rich choice of guided tours:
Guided tours of the historical cellars and the Italian-style garden.
Guided tasting sessions of wines and extra-virgin olive oil.
Guests have access to an open-air swimming pool, a heated indoor pool with Turkish bath. |
 Walkings
It is also possible to explore the surrounding 800 hectares of untainted woodland by foot or on mountain bikes. The hospitality office supplies a map of the trials of the area, detailed with a description.

In addition to Badia a Coltibuono's products, our shop also offers a wide selection of ceramics and local produce. |
 Cooking School
We do offer a rich choice of different cookery courses: one day, three or 5 days cooking courses. Each day the participants learn how to prepare a full meal, from bread and focacce, right through to dessert. And each time this meal is served in the dining-room. The courses offered at Badia a Coltibuono are geared to suit various needs. The hospitality desk is at your disposition for any information you may need. |
