 Built during the 14th century adjacent to the walls which surround the Medieval city of San Casciano Val di Pesa, the palace is one of the most ancient of the area. It was originally a hospital for the Benedictine monastery of Santa Maria del Gesł. For several centuries it accommodated monastery guests and pilgrims. Subsequently it became a popular public guesthouse until the Second World War when it was partially destroyed by bombing. |
 Today the palace houses the elegant and refined B&B ART which takes its name from the precious contemporary art collection housed in the palace. Breakfast, based on fresh local products, is served from 8am until 10am in a beautifully light room on the first floor. For those without a car, bus service is available from San Casciano Val di Pesa to Florence, Siena and various other famous tourist sites. The bus stop is a few metres from the B&B ART entrance. |
