Very welcoming. It set the tome for the whole stay. We were invited into their den for some wine and conversation.

We have traveled quite a bit and this was clearly the most enjoyable, memorable stay we've had. The hosts were extremely friendly and gracious. If you stay here, plan on taking some extra time to sit and enjoy your hosts. They have an incredible personal history and story to tell.

Your hostess, Rosanna, is the only woman to ever ride in the Paleo as a woman, and only the 2nd ever (the last one was in the 16th century). She and her children, Francesco and Chiarra, have opened their home/museum and their hearts to their guests. It is a thoroughly enjoyable experience to have stayed there and spent hours talking with them.
The house is beautiful, the grounds are lovely, the view is fantastic, but the hosts were the best part of the stay.

Villa Astreo was one of the high points of our three weeks in Italy. Francesco and his family welcomed us and shared much knowledge of the culture and history of the area, and recommended excellent restaurants and things to do. We would stay there again in a hearbeat!

Villa Astreo is a beautiful, peaceful place in a lovely location. The owners are very friendly and eager to share their passion for the area and its culture and history, and they made our visit much more meaningful than staying in a larger hotel. Sunsets on the terrace are unbeatable!

The directions should explain that you need to go up a dirt road on the way to Vagliagli, but otherwise they were good. Also, Francesco, the host, was superb, as was the breakfast. By far our favorite place on our trip; great views, a great room, and a wonderful host with wonderful stories of the family.

A home filled with amazing stories of a family as entwined with the Tuscan culture as the views are beautiful from the deck of the Villa. Spacious rooms with unique themes and a breakfast fit for a king. A garden of sculpture to suit your fancy, and a pool, great people and sometimes dancing.

We were stunned by the sheer beauty of the place. Francesco was encredibly warm and welcoming. We felt more like we were arriving to stay at a friends than a guest house.

Check out was at 10:30 however the place was so beautiful we were hated to leave. Our host welcomed us to relax by the pool and in the gardens, after we had cleared out our rooms, and we did so until afternoon.

This is a beautiful villa filled with antiques and surrounded by gardens and an oak forest beyond. It has a lovely sun deck with pool. Outside there seemed always to be a cooling breeze however the bedrooms were quite hot as there is no air conditioning. My only other possible compliant would be that the pillows were quite hard. Our host Francesco was incredible. I have never felt so welcome to anybodies home.

Francesco greeted us in the parking lot with a warm welcome and helped with our luggage. He also offered us a glass of wine and was most willing to answer all our questions.

Francesco was always available to help us and made dinner reservations nightly for us. He had great suggestions for restaurants. And was extrememly helpful when we needed directions to visit other places in Tuscany with maps included.

The location was great with outstanding views. The Villa is filled with historical artifacts, antiques,and pictures. It was quiet and peaceful and close to Siena and many medieval towns.
