We did not know we were to check in at the hotel rather than the apartments, so a bit of confusion on arrival, however a member of staff very kindly directed our taxi to the hotel and took us back to the apartment with our suitcases.

We had the best holiday ever and enjoyed the comfort of a high standard of accommodation. The shops and restaurants were excellent and met all our needs.
Maps for the walks were not accurate and difficult to follow.

perhaps mention that there are two pools , however, the one at the the appartments was always full...not enough sun loungers for the guests so we had to go to the other pool which was a shame

Very well renovated, pretty and quiet. Good place for a get away from the bustling hotels and within easy driving distance of some interesting places to visit .

Laundry facilities were not what we had expected for we could not use a laundry as expected but were told we would have to pay for someone to do our laundry which would have been expensive

Downside is the price of food in the restaurants associated with the hotel, particulaly the bar by the pool doing lunches - that was a rip off.
There is a wonderful delicatesan in the village where you can get the best cappacinos, and a fantastic ice cream shop in the village too which we all enjoyed almost every night.
A local bar in the village serves great platters of bread, cheese and hams which is packed out with italians most nights and very reasonably priced.

Beautiful countryside, a comfortable appartment with great facilities associated with the hotel. Special touches like a bottle of sparkling wine in the appartment and sliced water melon around the pool on Bank Holiday.

I have stayed here several times over the past five years. The staff are always friendly, helpful and polite.
I saw a difference this time in the numbers of people, which is good for the hotel, but I have to say there was a considerable difference in the noise levels later at night, in particular the banging of internal doors as people walked through. I'm not sure what you do about that - you can't control loud people who don't really think about anyone else! Also, the air conditioning system could do with a revamp - I'm fairly used to it but it was very warm despite a low level system, and I heard several people complain extensively about this.

Breakfast was included but was rather limited and disappointing. Once a particular item was finished it was not replaced or topped up.
We had to persuade the staff to turn on the air conditioning which is centrally controlled. No one else had requested it be turned on!! as it was not hot but our room was stuffy.

NO Air Con in Apartments - The heat and lack of air in the apartment was bearable most evenings/nights. We were not in the apartment during the day. Except for the day of the wedding - had to be at the church for 4pm so we were getting ready during the day. The heat was ridculous. A fan was provided but this was in no way enough.

The location was beautiful, and hotel was great. If I return I would stay at the hotel instead of apartments. Some rooms in hotel are fantastic and are air conditioned. Food in hotel restaurant not as good as in restaurant in village - Da Dafina - very very good. Definately need a car if staying in apartments to get supplies as the shops in the village are overpriced and do not stock much.
Reception staff were at times rude and spoke to friends inappropriately.
Overall a very enjoyable stay, and will return to Artimino and will definately recommend to friends.

The internal pictures that are available on Internet are not correlating with the hotel rooms and the building, where the rooms are located, is not clearly identified from Internet pictures.

In general the room/bathroom were in worse condition that we expected, but the external facilities, the garden, the swimming pool, were as nice as we expected and the swimming pool was very near to the room that was better that we expected.

The apartments would have benefited from air conditioning. It was extremely hot and uncomfortable at night. The hotel had AC so this was not a problem.

We were treated extremely well and taken to the apartment by one of the staff who showed us around and told us where all the facilities were.

A very picturesque location - my only comments would be that our apartment had an outside terrace shared with 3 others.
It was a bit bare - could have done with some screening - as the others on the complex had - and some greenery. We understand about shade because of the wind, but some type of brick shelter on the building would have helped to give us some shade from the sun at certain times of the day. Other apartments did have this as well.
One last comment would be that when asking for directions to the Signa station to get to Florence, etc., that this was not a good map given by the hotel. Other residents had difficulty finding the station - a better map would help, with more careful wording on how to locate it. We spent a long time driving around, asking people, how to get to the train - quite stressful.

Quiet and relaxing with excellent surroundings. Restaurant and food good with plenty of variety. Pool facilities good and adequate garden and land to enjoy a walk. Well presented hotel with polite and caring staff in ample numbers.

It was a glorious restful holiday with a high standard of service. Perhaps there could have been clearer instructions as to how things work eg jacuzzi and the timings and availability of the restaurants and bar eg what food is available when. These were all available when we asked but it would have been helpful to know first.

We left a cash tip in an envelope at reception. The Manager tried to give it back to us - running so as not to miss us! What honesty!

We suggest that people are prepared to ask for timings and details when they arrive rather than expect it to be given to them.

The apartment rooms are very different but have the same price.
You can get very disappointed with what you get compared to what other get for the same price.

When you look at the pictures you get the impression that you will stay on the castle that is a hunting castle and not the vine yard that is in village.
Also the room shown are the Restaurant on the castle where you can not eat and the bride suite wher you can not stay.
You will not get the impression of the rooms you actual will sty in.

I would accommodate the stay with the comment I have made earlier.
Contact the hotel to be sure what you will get.

Were unaware that we had to check-in at the hotel when staying at Artimino apartments. This was not made clear on the booking and so we had to walk from the apartments up to the hotel to collect the keys and then back again to the apartments.
