The owner brought us a couple of glasses of wine with home cooked food upon our arrival. We certainly didn't expect that, it was very nice of her. ... It was a very quiet and nice stay. The village is lovely and there was a market in the streets the next day. ... We had to leave a day early. The owner was disappointed, but was accommodating about our choice. We didn't realize Tuscany had so much to see. We didn't feel we would have enough time to see everything if we would have spent two nights in Monte San Savino. But, definitely worth a stop for the night. The dinner we had in a local restaurant was one of the best of our trip to Italy. La Terrasse. ... The location, in the middle of the historic centre. Just a quick drive to Arrezzo.

Signs in Italy denoting streets, piazze, etc. are rare and difficult to locate. Perhaps listing a nearby landmark such as a particular restaurant or shop would be helpful for someone locating the property for the first time. ... Our hosts were so welcoming and helpful during our stay that we felt we had become part of a wonderful family. We were assisted with maps for day trips each morning at breakfast, making exploring the surrounding area easier and more fun. Our hosts spoke several languages, and worked hard to make all feel welcome. The only small difficulty occurred because of a festival that took place in town during our stay, requiring that we find parking outside our usual area at a time when spaces were at a premium. ... We hated to leave! ... 1.There is no elevator in the building, as it is a meticulously restored palazetto that has been in the family for generations. For someone who cannot climb several flights of stairs, this might be a problem. 2.The host provided an opportunity for private wine tastings and exquisite gourmet dinners 'in famiglia' that made our stay even more memorable.
... It was a highlight of our trip to Italy, and we felt almost as though we had stayed with friends instead of in public accommodations. The town is small, but is excellently located to explore the region of Tuscany.
