By plane: The nearest airports from the Agriturismo Chioi are the one at Pisa, placed at 54 kilometres, and the one at Firenze, at 95 kilometres. They both receive international flights on a regular basis.
By car: If you rent a car at the Pisa airport, take the A11 highway and get off at the exit Lucca, around 20 minutes later. Afterwards, go on along the SS12 in the direction "Barga, Garfagnana".
Coming from Milan or Roma, you must take the A1 and then get off at the exit Firenze Nord. Continue along the A11 until the exit to Lucca. From this point, the itinerary is the same for both origins: once you reach the town of Borgo a Mozzano, drive along the road with the river on your right and after around 2 kilometres, you will pass a bridge on your right hand leading to Calavorno. Turn left and drive straight, seeing the towns of Calavorno, Ghivizzano, Piano di Coreglia and Ponte all`Ania go by. After this last town, turn right at the first street towards Filecchio. At the commune street take the first track on your left and go on around 400 metres.

By train: The nearest railway station from the farmhouses is at Fornaci di Barga (at 2 kilometres distance approximately). If you arrive here on the Lucca-Aulla service, there is a pick up service on a private bus provided by the owners to take you to the Agriturismo Chioi. At Filecchio there are also some bus stops to reach the neighbour villages. At Pisa airport there are train services reaching Pisa central station in only 5 minutes. From there you can reach Lucca. |
