Facilities within the Property

The farmhouses at Agriturismo Chioi are self catered, but the surroundings can be explored thanks to the guidebooks the owner will give you on your arrival. Archery, mountain bikes, children`s games, barbecue and an enormous peaceful garden are disposed for the guests so that they make the most of the time outdoors.

Although no meals are offered, there is a dining room at the ground floor of the "Il Loggiato" house where once a week (specially in summer), the complex owners organise the preparation of pizza, bread or focaccia for the guests, teaching them all the secrets of these two typical dishes.

In addition to this, a swimming pool measuring 6 x 12 metres is within reach from both farmhouses, open from May to October, and parking spaces are available in front of the houses. The managers of the Agriturismo Chioi live in their family house at Fornaci di Barga, at 2 minutes distance from the farmhouses: so if you need anything, you can call them and they will be ready to answer any request.

Your kitchen will obviously need supplies, and a stroll to Filecchio, placed at 1 kilometre from the houses, will do the math: there is a small country market here, selling fresh milk, vegetables and bread. And if you must make a bigger purchase, at Fornaci di Barga (1,5 km) a supermarket will satisfy all your needs. The main city in the area is Barga: it is a fantastic site to visit, as it was founded by the Lombards as a castle protected by walls and two of its gates still remain: Porta Reale and Porta Macchiaia. One of the landmarks is the Duomo cathedral, built between the 11th and 16th centuries: it was constructed in Romanesque style and features an outstanding 3,5 metres high statue of St. Christopher. As much as this typical Tuscan villages may attract you, the gift of the outdoor areas surrounding the Agriturismo Chioi must be made the most of: in the proximity of the farmhouses you can practise fishing, tennis and horse riding, or take a 2 minutes stroll to the nearest restaurant, a pizzeria that also serves local dishes with the typical Italian hospitality.
