Agrilago is located on Val di Lima Valley, a land of ancient cultural traditions that the farm's owners make an effort to respect and fully understand. The culture is directly reflected in the local cooking and typical products that we offer you at our farm. Your stay at Agrilago should allow you to get in touch with these ancient values. Travelling around this beautiful area, and maybe enjoying our courses on these subjects. |
In fact in the past years the Agrilago owner, Maria Annunziata Bizzarri, and her co-workers have started up courses such as local history courses that cover Casoli, the tiny town where the farm is located, and Val di Lima; courses on local gastronomy; and plant life and fauna. Our guests are welcome to join these courses in our little school which has video and audio support, an open air classroom, and organises guided tours and site visits. |
Val di Lima's population have survived for generations, specially during war periods, thanks to the chestnut trees that gave them food and wood for the fire. In fact in this area, the chestnut trees in also known as the "bread tree". Maria Annunziata and her co-workers researched and published a book on the particular culture of chestnuts that covers all topics from botanical to traditional planting harvesting and cooking techniques. |
Tuscany as a whole is a land of traditional wine making and cooking and even if we are living in the 21st century, our ancient traditions are undergoing a renaissance as we rediscover ancient values and methods that have been lost. Tuscany is a place where you can get in touch with true values, simplicity and tradition. |
